WHAT HAPPENS AT WITC

The high quality technical and management training is packaged appropriately as may be required for different categories of personnel including Chief Executives, Management staff, Machine Operators, Supervisors, Foremen, Technicians, Carpenters, Shipping and Documentation Clerks and other operatives in the wood-based industry. Participation fees cover training materials, field trips, lunch and tea breaks but does not include accommodation and transport expenses to and from the Centre and other personal expenses. This applies only to the short-term (informal) courses.

TRAINING ACTIVITIES

Training activities at WITC are a direct response to the salient needs of Ghana's timber sector to enhance performance in today's highly competitive trade environment with its varied conditions. The categories of courses designed to meet the needs more closely are:

 SEMINARS, CONFERENCES AND WORKSHOPS

These Activities address the needs of Ghana's timber sector, and cover broad areas such as technology transfer, forestry development, timber sector policy programmes (local/international), the environment and developments within the industry.

For these, WITC makes available its 200-seating capacity Conference Hall and 80-seating capacity Audio-Visual Centre facilities (Fully Air-conditioned) and an additional 40 seating capacity room to private and public forestry sector institutions/organizations/ agencies (local/international) that may wish to hold joint programmes with the Centre or on their own.

First class boarding and lodging facilities are assured on request to make stay at WITC, convenient and comfortable. As more and more people get interested in our training programmes and other activities, there is the need to expand the hostel facilities for which an Investment appraisal report has been prepared and forwarded.
